I'm Backkkkk Houston
As I embrace being back in Houston, it unfortunately means I had to let go of Bakersfield. š¢
Do you remember the story, āGoldilocks and the Three Bearsā? If you do, then you know Goldilocks goes on this quest into the woods and enters the home of three bears. She ends up finding the ājust rightā porridge, chair, & bed for her. Well out of all the destinations Iāve traveled for work, Bakersfield became the ājust rightā place for me to mature into my adulting years and be surrounded by an amazing group of friends and community.
Contrary to popular belief, the early 20s of life is still a major ādefiningā and āfiguring out lifeā stage. Three weeks after graduation from Prairie View A&M University, at the age of 26, I moved to California and boy did it make me grow up quickly. Although the learning curve of life hit me fast, I had the awesome honor and privilege to be surrounded by so many amazing people throughout my 7 year journey in California
But now the time has come for me to be closer to family. Time cannot be rewinded to remember key moments in life, so I want to see them play out in real time while I still have the chance. So in a way, Iām dedicating this blog to all the friends who became FRAMILY (friends + family) to me. There are so many people who took me in by embracing me on holidays, at dinners, at work, at church, and various other functions throughout the San Luis Obispo, Monterey, & Kern county areas.
I leave knowing the memories I have will last for a lifetime. I leave knowing my impact was for the better.
Thank you to everyone I crossed paths with in California! When God led me to venture west, I had no idea how much I would mature. But the maturation process I experienced made me better for my family and friends as I transition back home to Houston.
So to all my Bako FRAMILYā¦
This isnāt āGood-Byeā. Itās just āSee you laterā for now.
I look forward to what awaits me and my sisters as we reunite back in Houston.
But to my Houston family & friendsā¦. Iām Back!
